On that day

On that day
That blessed day
The day He will come
To take His people home
Some call it 'Rapture'
Others call it 'Judgment day'
But we all know
That day will surely come
When all mortal creatures
Will account for their stay
And time spent on earth


On that day
Oh! What a day
The earth will shake at its foundation
Graves will burst open
Mansions will crumble
Material things will evaporate
The seas will give up its content
In the world of the dead
All will arise
And behold His presence

On that day
That fateful day
Muscles will go limp
Courage will fail the brave
Great men will tremble
And be overcome with fear
The strong will lie weak
The oppressor will be in pain
The killer will face his wrath

On that day
The judgment day
The rich and poor
The strong and weak
The king and his subjects
Everyone will stand to be judged
According to their deeds
Wheat separated from chaff
Some will enter into eternal bliss
Others, unending sorrow
